what to wear
Our goal is modesty
Women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control…”
1 Timothy 2:9 ESV Bible.
The current RCV board acknowledges that the interpretation of this verse differs within the many Christian homes represented by our athletes. As Christ’s followers, we rejoice because we’ve been set free from the power of sin and death. We also propose and believe that true freedom is found in obeying God's Word, which includes a call to modesty as a way of honoring Him and showing love and concern for others (Galatians 5:13).
Additionally, we recognize that volleyball is an athletic activity, and clothing is part of an athlete’s success on the court.
With these considerations in mind, the RCV Board has decided upon the following dress code.
PRACTICE Dress Code
- Tops must fit so that sports bras are not revealed.
- Midriffs must not be exposed while standing or while lifting your arms.
- Running/Loose shorts may be worn alone as long as they have a minimum 3" inseam. Longer shorts or skirts may also be worn.
- Black Spandex shorts may be worn alone as long as they have a minimum 4” inseam. Longer black spandex shorts/leggings may also be worn.
GAME/TOURNAMENT Dress Code
- The Official Jersey/Tee/Uniform top given to the athlete by RCV must be worn.
- REQUIRED at several tournaments for every participating athlete: A minimum of 3" inseam, black, non-spandex athletic shorts. Longer shorts or skirts may also be worn per individual convictions.
- Here is a link to an approved pair of shorts that has spandex underneath:

- Here are non-spandex black athletic shorts that will work for games.
Not approved
- Loose shorts pulled up high that reveal any part of the buttocks (even if they technically have a 3” inseam)
- Visible cleavage
- Any spandex shorts or leggings that are not thick and black
Volunteer Policy
RCV VOLUNTEER POLICY
Due to the amount of work required to run the RCV program and to keep the cost low for families, each family will be assigned volunteer roles for the season. RCV will provide training for all positions.
1. The board has decided to divide more of the volunteer work amongst themselves to lighten the load for families and simplify the sign-up process. Careful thought has been put into our volunteer policy, with community and family at the center of our decision making.
2. Each athlete's family will be assigned two of three roles, in an alphabetical rotation by last name: Line judge, Scoreboard, or Scorebook. You will only be volunteering for your athlete's team. Brief descriptions are available on the website under POLICIES.
3. At the RCV Meet and Greet, you will have the opportunity to participate in choosing your volunteer role by filling out a survey card, listing you and/or your family's preferred roles. Any capable member of your family may fulfill your volunteer position. You may also indicate dates you will not be available to volunteer.
4. We are moving our family volunteer schedule to Team Snap, so there will be only one place that you need to go for information about practices, games, events, and volunteering. After the survey cards are evaluated, we will do our best to give each family their preferred roles, which you will then see assigned on your athlete's Team Snap account. If you are assigned for a game that you cannot attend, it will be your responsibility to trade with another parent/family. You will be notified of your upcoming volunteer role via TeamSnap, but we won’t be managing it there until the 2027 season.
*It is pivotal that you utilize Team Snap to help our program run smoothly!
5. If your family chooses not to volunteer for a role, you have the option to pay a buy-out fee. The deadline for buyout is August 20. In the unlikely chance that a family does not fulfill their role, nor do they buy out, they will be required to pay the buy-out fee the following year before registering their athlete for RCV. This is to promote community fairness and contribution.
Varsity buy-out fee = $230 per player
JV buy-out fee = $215 per player
14U buy-out fee = $200 per player
12U buy-out fee = $175 per player
Practice Team and Teen Skills Building Team = No option for buy-out as each family should only need to volunteer 2-3 times during the season.
Below indicates the approximate number of times your family will be assigned to volunteer for your athlete's games this season. These numbers are an estimate and include tournament games!
TEAM VOLUNTEER TIMES PER FAMILY BUY OUT FEE
Varsity 12-15 times $230
JV 8-12 times $215
14U RED 5-6 times $200
14U BLUE 5-6 times $200
12U 4 times $175
