HOMESCHOOL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL CLUB
Teams are run on a pay-to-play basis. The fees collected are used to pay for gym space, tournament and home game fees, refs, equipment, insurance, and coaches. Fees are determined based on number of practices, games and tournaments. Please see our registration page for more details.
PRACTICE TEAM
This team will be for all beginners, 9 years old through 14 years old as of September 1, 2024, who are new to volleyball, or for athletes who need more time before they are ready for a more competitive team. Volleyball fundamentals will be taught at the beginner level for passing, setting, and hitting (also known as spiking) as well as placement and rotations. Emphasis will be on creating trust and bonds as teammates on and off the court. Players will learn all volleyball rules and guidelines and try out each position. A well-rounded volleyball player is the goal to advancing in this sport. This level will include 4-6 scrimmages at the home gym, but the Practice Team is more about learning to have fun and falling in love with the sport. All team members are expected to act, react and address other teams in a mature manner remembering they are playing for the Glory of God.

Practices start August 5, 2024, at HSB (5625 Burlingame Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509) Mondays and Thursdays 4:30pm-6:00pm. We ask that players arrive 10-15 minutes early to get shoes and kneepads on, bathroom break and help setup nets. We plan to schedule a couple scrimmages for the Practice Team during the season, so please keep close tabs on the calendar.
ELEMENTARY 12U
The elementary or 12U is for girls 12 years old as of September 1, 2024, and younger. This is for girls new or newer to volleyball but also looking for a more competitive experience. Volleyball fundamentals will be taught at the beginner level for passing, setting, and hitting (also known as spiking) as well as placement and rotations. Emphasis will be on creating trust and bonds as teammates on and off the court. Players will learn all volleyball rules and guidelines and try out each position. A well-rounded volleyball player is the goal to advancing in this sport. This level will include 6-8 games, including a couple of away games. The emphasis will be about learning to have fun and falling in love with the sport. All team members are expected to act, react and address other teams in a mature manner remembering they are playing for the Glory of God.

MIDDLE SCHOOL 14U
The middle school level is for girls 14 years old as of September 1, 2024 and younger. Volleyball fundamentals will be taught at a slightly higher level than beginner for passing, setting, and hitting (also known as spiking) as well as placement and rotations. Emphasis will be on creating trust and bonds as teammates on and off the court. Players will learn all volleyball rules and guidelines and try out each position but may be placed in one based on skill and experience. A well-rounded volleyball player is the goal to advancing in this sport. All team members are expected to act, react and address other teams in a mature manner remembering they are playing for the Glory of God.

Practices start August 5, 2024 at the HSB, Inc. (5625 Burlingame Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509) Most practices for 14U will be Mondays and Thursdays 6:00-8:00. Most games will be either Tuesdays or Fridays. We ask that players arrive 10-15 minutes early to get shoes and kneepads on, bathroom break and help setup nets. We plan to have about 8-10 games for the season with other homeschool clubs, possibly a few local schools. The team will also get the opportunity to play at the State Tournament in Brighton, MI. Please keep close tabs on the calendar.
JUNIOR VARSITY
The junior varsity level is for girls 18 years of age and under. Volleyball fundamentals will be taught at the intermediate level for passing, setting, and hitting (also known as spiking) as well as touching base on placement and rotations. Emphasis will be on creating trust and bonds as teammates on and off the court. Players will hone in on skills previously learned, but with focus on a position or two they excel at. There will be a certain level of leadership expected at this level, with being a role model to the junior high players. Beginners are accepted and expected to work just as hard as returning players. Each member of the JV team is expected to participate in all practices, games, and tournaments, in exception to sickness or family events. If an injury occurs, we still expect you to support your team at games as you are able. All team members are expected to act, react and address other teams in a mature manner remembering they are playing for the Glory of God.

Practices start August 5, 2024, at the HSB, Inc. (5625 Burlingame Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509). Most JV practices will be Monday and Thursdays 6:00pm-8:30pm. We ask that players arrive 10-15 minutes early to get shoes and kneepads on, bathroom break and help setup nets. Most games will be Tuesdays or Fridays. We plan to have 10-12 games for the season with other homeschool clubs, possibly a few local schools. The team will also get the opportunity to play at 3-4 tournaments such as our Freedom Invitational, the Midwest Volleyball Classic in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and at the State Tournament in Brighton, MI.
VARSITY
The varsity level is for girls 18 years old and younger. Volleyball fundamentals should be established at this point, players will hone the skills previously learned, but with focus on the positions in which they excel. There will be a high involvement of leadership expected at this level, with being a role model to the younger teams. Each member of the varsity team is expected to participate in all practices, games, and tournaments, in exception to sickness or family events. They will also be expected to work at the 12U, 14U and JV team games if needed. If an injury occurs, you are still expected to support your team at games as you are able. All team members are expected to act, react and address other teams in a mature manner remembering they are playing for the Glory of God.

We ask that players arrive 10-15 minutes early to get shoes and kneepads on, bathroom break and help setup nets. Most games will be Tuesdays and Fridays. We plan to have 10-12 games for the season with other homeschool clubs, possibly a few local schools. The team will also get the opportunity to play in 4-5 tournaments such as the Officials for Kids Tournament in Grand Rapids, our own Freedom Invitational, the Midwest Volleyball Classic in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and the National Homeschool Volleyball Tournament.
